Out Of Order

I know many Christians (me included) who have been absolutely stressed out to no end when trying to decide what to DO next! I'm talking about when we are trying to truly figure out what God wants us to do according to His will for our lives. I am not saying that we should not do what God would have us to do, but that maybe we should first BE who He would have us to BE.

I have seen family members, friends and young people in serious "confusion" over what to DO for God! And we know who wants us confused and we know God is not the author of confusion.

I have been reading a lot of Proverbs the last couple of months and can't get through two or three verses without reading "if someone has this trait, heart, or personality then they will do this, this or this". In other words, their makeup, whether good or evil, Holy or unholy, wise or unwise, obedient or disobedient, kind or ruthless, worker or lazy, loving or hateful, etc...will be the determining factor of their actions and results.

The world often looks at what we DO to determine our value. While in the eyes of God, who we are BEING (which is the fruit of our inner man) is the determining factor in what we DO.

In Matthew, Jesus tells us to not worry about life, but to seek first His Kingdom. I think this even goes for deciding what God would have us to DO. We should first seek His Kingdom. We should first Be who He would have us to Be. Then we will be Doing what He would have us to DO because of who we are in Him.

Drop me a line,

Greg
